Axiomwear is a result of a desire to start something relevant using clothing as a vehicle to spread a message of love and hope.  Several years ago, I was so inspired by what Onetruth Clothing was doing that I wanted to do something similar.  I had no capital with which to start, but I did have a longing to see this mission launched.  

 

    In August 2005, I was still in college and had just gone through a very rough time.  My heart was very raw but it was healing, and I wanted to get started.  I knew it would be a while before I would see anything happen, but I didn’t want to sit idly by.  I needed to get started.        

 

    I brainstormed names for the project and checked availability of domains on the internet (after all, I wanted to be sure I had something original).  So Axiomwear was conceived.  I can’t remember exactly what names I went through and tossed or how Axiomwear even came to mind, but it stuck.  So on September 1, 2005, I registered the domain axiomwear.com.  I went to work compiling a list of design ideas and sketches in a small spiral bound notebook.  I knew I would be able to use these someday.  

  

    In the meantime, other clothing lines and other non-profits started up, including To Write Love On Her Arms.  I also drew inspiration from what they are doing.  In the summer of 2007, I talked to people from Onetruth Clothing, Faveur Clothing, and Thorn Clothing.  They all gave me tons of free advice about how to get going.  I was sort of surprised in a way, that they were willing to help, but at the same time, it made sense.  They are not in it for the money, so of course they were willing to give advice to someone with the same mission in mind.  So Axiomwear does not consider other clothing lines to be competition, but rather, as like-minded and pushing towards the same goals.

 

    In late 2006, I became reconnected with and old acquaintance, Tom ‘the Bomb’ Miyashiro of Faith 2 Faith Ministries International.  We became better friends while co-hosting several seasons of Real Life Radio together.  Somewhere along the way, I expressed my desire to establish a T shirt line with meaningful and thought provoking designs.  Tom liked the idea and decided to back the first run of shirts.  Finally Axiomwear was getting its start!  We decided to start with a single design and had our first shirts arrive the first week in August of 2007.  

    

    There is more to be written, but those pages will be filled as we cross paths with many of you, whether it be at a festival, concert, or through an email.  We desire that the message we share with you will prompt you to pass it on.  This message of hope and love is not our own but it comes from above.
